Growing up on the West Coast of Florida, Jennifer's empathy and advocacy for
animals was innate, much to her parents' chagrin. She often battled with them
insisting that the family "outdoor" dog belonged inside their home...many times
prevailing. After college, where she received a bachelors degree in Education at
Troy State University on a Leadership Scholarship, Jennifer worked in the

competitive field of commercial real estate for ten years, both in Miami and in New York City. In her spare time, she
followed her passion and volunteered at animal shelters and rescued homeless dogs and cats off the streets. In 2006,
Jennifer took time away from her career and volunteered two months at the Cayman Islands Humane Society in Grand
Cayman. Jennifer's father was born and raised in Cayman, which is where her family vacationed each summer. She
never forgot the horrendous sight of so many homeless animals wondering the streets there like pigeons do in New York
City. A career change was inevitable and Jennifer accepted a position later that year with New York City's Animal Care &
Control (ACC) as the New Hope Coordinator, facilitating the rescue of animals into over 100 shelters and rescue
organizations within the tri-state area. She took the reins of United Action for Animals in 2008 as president and began
dedicating all of her time to the organization in January of 2009. Jennifer is a vegetarian and has three rescued
companion animals (Anthony a Pit-Bull, Sassafras a Dalmatian and Blacky the lone feline of the bunch). Jennifer heads up
the Cruelty Committee for (ACC) and is the chairperson for Shelter Reform Action Committee
